Reads like the next Reese Witherspoon miniseries. Need to find the time to finish it.

I loved the beginning, but so far, it's another "is it real or just a dream" story to process the grief of the protagonist.

She knows how to start a book.

So far, this is quite a beautiful book about love, family, and acceptance.

"Any community that has been taught that anyone not straight is dangerous is itself a danger to lgbtq+ people"

I am beginning to see why my county wants this book removed.

Let's see how this wraps up. If it's obvious a twist is coming, does it still count as a twist?

For a mystery, just not enough suspects to really work. Even though the narrator has mentioned 47 times that it could only be a like 4 people, somehow she can't figure out who those people are.

Narrator is almost caught up. Almost. How painfully slow this book is actually works in its favor to ratchet up the suspense. Moving on to the next thing? Nope, not yet. Going to re-explain everything you just read and understood? Yep, maybe three more times.

Why does the narrator keep whispering?

There is no way the protagonist of this book has a PhD. She is always about a chapter behind, but luckily the book explains everything to death so she can catch up. I'll stick around for the twist that seemed obvious from the beginning, but we shall see.

Possibly, the best opening chapter I have ever read. I'm a huge fan of MBK's writing style.

I will finish this book in this life or the next.

Still a ways to go, but living up to the hype so far.
