Jennifer's voice reminds me of Kerouac and her metaphors are nothing but poetry. I cannot wait until she does something long form!

Lots of little details about Lincoln, making him more of a human and less a superhero. A little dry (as opposed to bios I read on Kennedy and Kafka), but still good. I'll keep going.

Man am I behind. Much has happened since my last update, but little of it related to CoD. The book continues in its absurdist vein and I'm digging it. Perhaps not as much as some, but I think that's because absurdity is best served in small, condensed portions. IMO, of course. This one languishes a tad.

Michael is finished with The Somnambulist (Domino Men #1)
I wouldn't retract anything I said previously, but I will say the last 40 pages were explosive. All the loose strings were tied up, but not perfectly. Two of our supernatural friends closed weakly, and that does include the title character. And the S.T. Coleridge zombie? Really? If this poetical abomination had been wielded better, I'd have been more satisfied. Still a 7 out of 10, though.

We've only been in Shangri La for a few pages, so I'm still learning about the lamasery. The characters, so far, interest me (though Mallinson, by necessity I suppose, is irritating). Considering the era when Hilton authored it, the perspective on bigotry is both interesting and refreshing. So far, anyway.
