Interesting... When this story was published, photovoltaic cells had not yet been invented, though they were obviously working on them, as they were developed four years later. In this story, the protagonist invents them as a sort of afterthought, to supplement his more revolutionary technology.

This story is about the societal effects of a revolutionary, cheap, and easy power source. It seems like pretty much the same story could apply to the AI revolution.

A lot of misses, but some really great stories, too.

"The Stone City" has some parts that create a real sense of wonder.
