Here comes the side of Stephen King I don't enjoy. The long rambling history of the town, full of strange nicknames for things I've never heard of. It's just not interesting to be told this stuff, I'd rather be shown.

Ben's story about going into the Marsten House was great, though.

Not sure if Ben is the tall man from the prologue or not. Seems likely at this point if they're both writers. The writing is immediately a LOT more verbose than in Carrie.
