It's interesting to note that what we hope will happen in a story greatly impacts how we rate it. The more the author can get you to care about the characters, the better the book imo. Finnick's wedding was a beautiful reminder that life is still worth it despite the mess war creates. I'm finding that I don't care about Peeta very much as I read on.

So far so good. The chapter with Katniss visiting the sick in zone 8 was moving and inspirational. I still have an unsettled feeling that much is happening "behind the curtain". It lacks the pace of the first two so far, but I'm just about to start section two . . .
