This continues to be dense but fascinating.

I want to be reading this book more and faster.

this is tonally very different from the previous books. I've been warned by the spoiler-laden reviews to expect problematic. As someone who's read a lot in this genre tho, this still feels very much like something an HH character has to deal with. "It's not a happy ship" which covers up a dark pattern of abuse. Haven't gotten to the content in question yet, but I expect it to be clumsily but not maliciously handled.

ok the Larry Stu is still going strong, but yeah this is just likeable fluff

So the thing about these books; they make my heart hurt. In an unabashedly Larry-Stu way Ishmael has everything I want. These books are my greener grass.

early opinion: this is a well told story about people and events i don't care even a tiny bit about in a world that is undeniably cool but feeling smaller by the second.

This has yet to wow me so far.
