Before they get inside the girls are told by the Guardian of the Gate to go home and "milk the cows and bake the bread." But they cry out "WE ARE NOT AFRAID!" and begin to poke him with glittery knitting needles. The fact that this was all written by a man over 100 years ago is pretty cool to me. You don't see an army of four hundred girls in a lot of books so I enjoyed this chapter.

I just finished chapter 8 of The Marvelous Land of Oz and I loved it. Here Tip meets General Jinjur and her army of women. He follows them to their planned revolt on The Emerald City. It was the first chapter I couldn't get enough of! It was fun to read about the girls breaking through the doors and conquering the city, and without any bloodshed might I add.
