So informative; a must read for all serious students of Scripture.

This book seems to reveal many of the presuppositions connected to ECT.

I thought that the case for ETC was weak; the critiques were anything but weak.

Callan and I are definitely enjoying this as we continue to read and grow in our understanding of how the original authors and their audiences understood the text in it’s context.

Consider this a must read if you plan to study the book of Jonah.

His commentary will cause you to think and re-think the word in a wonderful way!

Timmer’s approach to the book of Jonah was wonderfully challenging; definitely worth the read.

My first time reading this author; I really enjoyed his approach to the text.

She knows how to push the student of Scripture; very well rounded in the historical perspectives as well as the inter-faith connections that exist across the spectrum of monotheism. This book will break you out of the echo chamber in a great way!

At first I wasn’t sold on the book; however, I’ve really come to enjoy the way it’s laid out. The author is successful and bridging the gap from the ANE to modernity.

This commentary series is a must have for everyone who stands in the pulpit regularly!

I’d recommend this commentary for anyone who is looking to get a better understanding of Jonah. Super helpful and very thorough!

The layout of the book took some getting used to; the author is insightful and knows how to approach the text of the OT in ways that transcend the Protestant perspective. Really helpful for the serious student of Scripture.

I love me some John Walton. He really knows how to challenge the student of Scripture to think critically about the text.

We’re over 3 months time spent in the Book of Jonah at AC2. This book is helpful on a pastoral level more than an academic level. It’s good nonetheless.
