THE NAMES IN THIS BOOK ARE SO STUPID BUT IT ALMOST MAKES ME LOVE IT MORE what you MEAN you are telling me this tragic tale and the characters evoking these emotions in me are called *checks notes* “Benjie” and “Roderick [surname so silly I have forgotten it entirely]”

Honestly struggling with this, it’s very… sluggish. Also realising I maybe hate stories with friend dynamics like this?? (Was she on tumblr during the les mis apocalypse of the mid teens?) so kind of dreading the development of it.

Ughhhhh it’s only 169 pages but this book is not thrilling me. I love Wodehouse but this parody adds very little? It’s not doing anything interesting - it’s more like a “haha remember Wodehouse”. Anyway it is also the most 2009 book ever written if that makes sense.

Once again this book that everyone loves is phenomenal. Alas. Love the descriptions, I have such a clear vision of everything in my head. The reveal that he had pearls and coral braided into his hair made me so pleased. This is such a satisfying read so far!
