Sometimes the conclusions they reach seem obvious, but other times I feel like they take massive leaps. Plus ALL of part 3 was just talking talking talking, which is good bc the author is amazing, but just a little tedious

oh Ana is just my ICON - everything she says is just so BIZARRE but she's obviously brilliant. I also love this gross world, where everyone is kind of infected by moss or spores or gross alterations in the name of advancement. It's an ugly but interesting world

The second half of this is way more interesting than the first lol once the act is actually passed and you can see her journey and consequences it's way more intriguing. The first half should be shortened or at least more focused on the tension to pass the Act - I would like more exploration of what happens to families after they get the money

I'm not really sure if this has a plot but it's mostly this woman giving up too much for her family that asks too much for her

I still don't like Juliette but she's warming up thankfully. I do like all the romance on paper: the massages, going to fancy parties, fixing each other's appearance. I just don't care for these particular characters that much idk

Despite being a jealous child Juliette is still falling for Luca lmao I want the best for Luca now. She deserves better

Sal roja is kind of awesomely evil lol - her feelings are kind of out of nowhere with Alejandro, the focus is definitely on the conflict and not the romance

For all i keep thinking this feels like a sequel to a book that doesn't exist - the characterization is spot on. I knew something was wrong with her father immediately. Looking forward to see how the "no one know he's the devil" will play out

Plot is taking hold! I'm interesting in Alejandro just like Loli is, I cant definitely get some enemies to lovers vibes. I love the devotion to family in this too, she wants Coloma to be safe but mostly wants her family to succeed - and she knows when to listen to her father and when to push back a little

I like how his autism is present but not shitty rep like so many other books. He's still an adult. And I like how Amber is realizing how great he is and falling hard lol

The atmosphere is great in this - the quiet but wildness of the west in mid 1800s. Also I picture her father as Pedro Pascal and I love him immediately lmao

I really like the characters and how they grow closer, the banter is really fun and I even like that sometimes they have to clarify what they mean when it's taken too far. I do wish the narrator for Sage had a better voice for Noah and every other male character they are...not good

I love them. They hate each other. They're obsessed with each other. They respect each other and need the other to succeed. They can't stop competing. They try to be adults but can't turn up the chance to one up the other. I love it

They are ridiculously mean to each other right off the bat lmao but I do get both of their frustrations, being promised one thing only to have to share it with someone who doesn't respect you. I ag least understand Sage feeling threatened even though she is being a bitch lol
