I like that the pastor is getting paranoid and really taking Good Stab as a threat, which Good Stab is also playing with him a bit each time they meet - though he's telling this heartbreaking story of losing his culture

Starting off okay - a bit of clunky exposition but the characters seem interesting - Mari's bratty bc she has to deal with so much at home and her mom's got ISSUES with how poor she is. Taylor is probably on the spectrum lol preferring silence and fawning

I'm absolutely LOVING this so much. Good Stab's struggle between surviving as something new and feeling like he betrays his culture so much. The interesting vampire lore like how he takes on animals traits of that's all he eats. The struggle between the animalistic desire and what's smart to survive

This is one of those books where if you say "it's boring" or the "writing was too hard" I'm going assume you're not very smart at all

I think maybe this isn't hitting because it's written too simply. And the dialogue is rather generic. Not a lot of time with Archer's actual feelings

Really wish this was more dirty dancing than just. Having the same setting and they're both already classic dancers. It's missing the slight danger of "getting caught" like the movies have. I also don't care about Caleb at all. Archer is just fine?

Yeah...I just gotta disagree with saying that Midnights is the height of Gothic references in her discography, this chapter had the most reaches for connections (and even referenced more ROMANTIC writers than Evermore). These two should have switched genres

I disagree with saying that Midnights is somehow more Gothic era than Evermore, I feel like the authors were too attached to the "narrative evolution" of the albums in order to admit this though - Evermore is all about hauntings and references gothic novels left and right (besides Gatsby or Appalachian themes)

This is fun! I kinda want more of a dirty dancing retelling than this actually is, but I'll take it. Love the setting - a celebratory gay getaway is so fun
