not my thing - I’m gonna have to dnf this one because it’s just too upsetting to get through. I got to page 67 then scanned the rest of the novel for any kind of hope or relief from the bleakness of Frida’s life but it seems to get darker and darker… so congrats to jessamine chan for writing a dystopia that I can’t handle! that’s never happened before!

I don’t usually read nonfiction, but this reads like a novel with occasional withering asides/stats about America’s housing market... so I’m definitely interested. Plus, this next chapter has my name in it, which is exciting.
