Oof. The writer clearly hates her subject

So far I am really enjoying this. It is not what I expected at all, in a good way. It's more literary than I thought it was going to be. I initially thought ths was just going to be a quirky light sci-fi, domestic thriller, but again it's more literary than that. As of right now, I highly recommend it! I will update when I finish it and see if I still think so.

This book is REALLY heavy on the Freudian analysis. I can take some Freud but not this much. It's also just not believable. Some of her theories really stretch credibility to the max and don't make much sense. Maybe they were true for that very specific patient but they don't have applicability to anyone else. I love reading about stuff like this but this is definitely a miss. I'm not going to finish it.

bout 20 or so pages in I realized I had tried to read this book before. I had stopped early on because I didn't like it. This time around, several years later, I'm actually enjoying it. I don't know what made me put it down before, or why i didn't remember I had tried to read this already, but anyway, here I am!

I don’t think I can finish this. It reads exactly like the kind of thing it’s trying to make fun of. While that might be done on purpose, it doesn’t make an enjoyable read and because it doesn’t seem to be in on the joke, it falls flat as satire.

The book is getting better.
