This book is so good!! I, of course, have high expectations for it as most prequels and other books in a series that contribute to the world-building of that series is always really engaging and interesting. I love Suzanne Collins’ work and the whole world of the Hunger Games and Panem is really well thought out

Quite sad that the movie version had left out a couple important details, like how Katniss found her Capitol prep team in District 13 and she gets a glimpse of Coin and what she is capable of. Another thing is some characters being left out like Plutarch’s assistant, Fulvia, and Gale’s family, but it is quite understandable how they omitted them as they served no purpose.

Been procrastinating and having a hard time trying to start this book but I finally got to it and im compelled to finish it

Wow, the details the books go into is really unmatched. It just explains everything really well and how even the tiny detail that they left out in the movie with Plutarch and his pocketwatch, which foreshadows his side with the Mockingjay. Soo good

Ahh im so excited. We’re finally going back to the games. Katniss and Peeta are still playing along to the star-crossed lovers performance as they meet their fellow tributes from other districts

We finally get to meet Finnick! My beloved <3

Haymitch’s backstory to the second quarter quell is so good! I wish that it was remade into a live action movie or even a series or short film

As Katniss fears for her, Peeta’s, and the districts’ fates in the hands of the Capitol, Gale still acts like a man-child (“why you no love me?” -John Mayer)
