I feel like… all it would take to resolve the resort conflict is to just ~casually~ mention how staunchly opposed to it the townspeople are, and if someone with sway were to speak up on their behalf—say, someone crazy wealthy and descended from a founding family—not only would that person win a shit ton of brownie points, but Cynthia would be humiliated
