Hoo boy.

Trying to figure out whether the narrator has a problem with women or whether it's actually the author is probably as fruitless as it is exhausting.

It's hard not to take it personally when the narrator protagonist's wife-then-ex-wife is exactly your age and repeatedly described as, shockingly, somehow still marginally attractive. (She didn't breastfeed their kid very long, so her breasts remain "buoyant.")

Queasy.
