Read Antony and Cleopatra, which was wonderful. Now up to Cymbeline, the last play in the volume.

Finished the preface, acknowledgements, the preliminary chapter, and the chapter on Hinduism. Now I'm going to read the Bhagavad Gita in the Harvard Classics, Vol. 45 before moving on to the next chapter on Buddhism.

Finished On Old Age. Now up to the letters of Cicero.

Read Cicero's On Friendship. Now up to his On Old Age.

Finished His Last Bow and am now up to the final book, The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes.

Finished The Valley of Fear. Now starting on His Last Bow and its first short story, "The Adventure of Wisteria Lodge".

Finished The Return of Sherlock Holmes. Next up is The Valley of Fear, which is going to annoy me for being anti-labor agitprop, but I don't think I can justify saying I've read a book unless I've read every word.

I had a day trip out of town, so I listened to Hamlet, which was long enough for both legs of the drive.

Finished The Hound of the Baskervilles. Now on to The Return of Sherlock Holmes.

Finished Euripides' Hippolytus and The Bacchae. Now I have only The Frogs by Aristophanes remaining.

Finished all of The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes and am now up to the fourth chapter of The Hound of the Baskervilles, "Sir Henry Baskerville".

Finished "The Man with the Twisted Lip" and "The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle". Next up is "The Adventure of the Speckled Band".

Read Antigone and finished the Sophocles section. Next up is the episode of The History of European Theatre podcast about Oedipus at Colonus (which I've read before) and then the general episode about Euripides (and maybe the ones about Medea and Electra too, since neither of them are in this book) before reading Hippolytus. The Bacchae is covered in another podcast.

Finished "The Boscombe Valley Mystery" and "The Five Orange Pips". The next three stories, "The Man with the Twisted Lip", "The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle", and "The Adventure of the Speckled Band" were all adapted for TV, so I'll be reading and then watching them individually until the last, which I'll combine with "The Adventure of the Engineer's Thumb". I'm looking forward to watching the next episode.

Read "The Red-Headed League" and "The Case of Identity". I read both at once because "The Case of Identity" wasn't adapted for television. The same holds true for the next two stories. "The Boscombe Valley Mystery" was adapted but "The Five Orange Pips" was not. Of the 12 stories in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, 8 were adapted for the Granada television series.

Read "A Scandal in Bohemia" from The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. I've decided to read these stories in conjunction with the TV adaptations by Jeremy Brett, of which I own a complete set on DVD. I watched The Sign of Four this morning, and next I'll watch this story's adaptation before starting to read "The Red-Headed League". Where a story has no adaptation, I'll just read it with the one that does.

Finished A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of Four. Now reading the first collection of short stories, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.

Finished Oedipus the King. Now up to Antigone, which I'll read after listening to the History of European Theatre podcast about it.

I finished Othello, which was a brilliant and disturbing play. Next up is Antony and Cleopatra and then Cymbeline and I'll be finished with the whole of the William Shakespeare canon.

Finished The Duchess of Malfi, which once again proved why it's my favorite non-Shakespearian early modern play. Next up is Appius and Virginia, the one solo-authored John Webster play I've not read and my reason for reading this collection.

Finished The White Devil, which was brilliant as usual. Now on to my favorite early modern play not by Shakespeare, The Duchess of Malfi.

Finished King Lear, which was wonderful. My second-favorite tragedy after Hamlet, and perhaps not even second. Next up is Othello.
