So far, pretty cliche'. Stock characters & setting. But it has the rhythm and edge I was looking for in a noir revival book. Hoping there are interesting surprises to come.

Love this book! Lenore illuminates the shadow of Jane Franklin, and women typical of the era, from very little actual literary remains. By quoting material of the time, keeping misspellings and language intact, the reader is transported to the18th Century, not as a voyeur but as a commoner-reading almanacs and participating in conversations during, literally, one of the most Enlightening times in world history.

...still not that interesting. Grinding through it.

The Interestings are not yet that interesting. Hoping it picks up.
