At the 25% mark I was almost ready to DNF this book.
To my taste, there's a good-sized chunk that probably could've been cut – enumerations that seem to have no end, tangents so long I sometimes forget where they left off.
On the positive side, what stands out to me is the atmosphere that Eco manages to convey. Also, William is a very interesting character and I like that we follow him through s.o. else's eyes.
