As Rothfuss notes in his forward, this book would seem quite awkward and unpleasantly unusual if I had not read his previous novels. Having read and enjoyed his previous works, I'm finding "The Slow Regard of Silent Things" pleasantly unusual. The protagonist, Auri, has a special language all her own; the words may be the same as ousr, but they are employed in altogether different manner.
