Excellent so far...getting a bit worried about the direction "Part III" is heading (hoping it won't get too utopian/preachy) but am still really liking the book and agree with it's philosophies.

Just started. This book has been on my watch list for a few years now. I figured I better start it now before they make the movie and everyone and their dog starts reading it. I hate when my reads get baised because they're movies, ie "Congo". Potentially a great book but the.movie just killed it for me

So far I have liked this book but am struggling through it. I am normally a huge James Ellroy fan but a gritty political/police adventure hasn't been hitting my mood this summer. After another novel or two I plan on giving it another go.
