I am enjoying this. The women of the Old Testament had a lot more nerve than I remembered. I was especially moved by the story of Hagar told both from Genesis and the Koran.

I am reading this slowly and deliberately...like a college textbook. any of you who are history lovers, and/ or looking for reasons for violence in our society will find this an interesting view, even if you do not agree with all of her conclusions. I must admit, I had all but forgotten Gilgamesh!

An amazing story...the history section sounds as if it was written by another author, but her voice is quite compelling !

This book is SO much fun to read!!

Enjoyed her courtship with the Prince and wedding in the Abbey. I know it's a bit of a fluff piece, but it is enjoyable.

Her childhood is a lot like Downton Abbey. Enjoying the story.

This is a fascinating and well written book about a woman born in Persia in 1921 . It is a remarkable story about a real woman's struggle with the politics and customs of her time and her determination to be the best she can be. I am learning a lot about the history of Iran. I cannot help but think of a young woman I met at IU in Bloomington in the mid 60's and wonder what happened to her.
