Black Bark - Brian Evenson: I was really bored by this one. I feel like it was leading up to something and then never delivered.

Midnight Caller - Stephen Graham Jones: This was actually really creative and I like how it played with horror movie tropes.

Stemming the Tide - Simon Strantzas: This was actually really dark and well-written. While I didn't love the actual plot, I'll still be checking out other books by Simon Strantzas.

It Washed Up - Joe R. Lansdale: Sort of like a twisted Pied Piper story, but it was just fine.

These Deathless Bones - Cassandra Khaw: Damn, this story was dark, but I liked how it turned the villain and evil stepmother trope on its head.

The Girls from the Horror Movie - Gwendolyn Kiste: Loved this one! I have to read more by Gwendolyn Kiste because this was such an interesting tale about sisterhood and scary little girl ghosts in movies.

My Body, Herself - Carmen Maria Machado: I LOVE Carmen Maria Machado's writing. This is such a strange horror story, but it has a feminist slant which I find appealing. I have to read more of her work.

The Pond - Paul Tremblay: Once again, a really short story that needs to be expanded for any scares at all.

This is a futuristic novel about a post-apocalyptic world, yet still contains the whimsy of Vonnegut. Even though I'm already a third of the way through it, I really don't know where it's going to go.

I really like how Vonnegut throws himself into his books in a really strange way.

I think this is my favourite Vonnegut book so far. I'm really enjoying it.

While I'm liking this, it's definitely not as game-changing as I thought it was when i first read it.
