It’s been like 67 chapters and I feel like there’s barely any story about the characters and their relationship. The food is really Japanese mom cooking, which was really cool at first, but now all the meals has blended together because they hardly serve a big focal point in a chapter’s story.

There’s a lot of great food, but not enough food with narrative so far….

Hurray for gay yearning

I’m waiting for the moment where I’ll care about these characters and their deep, storied relationships, but it hasn’t happened. The set up of the novel is definitely to blame.

For the UK section so far, the author is writing as if she’s righting dialogue for a noir film. It’s not really working.
