Tbh I never really believed the whole “Nico and Jason became besties and super close and Jason meant a lot to Nico” like… we never see that. The only thing Jason did was… be present when Nico had to come out, then keep his secret and give minimal support. Where’s this deep bond that the fandom (and apparently now Rick and Mark) seem to think they share?? I don’t buy Nico’s weepiness at Jason’s death

Gosh I hope this book is good. I hope I can’t tell it’s been coauthored, mainly by someone who’s not the original author. I hope hope hope there’s no more stupid choices like ToN, and I hope the plot and characters and story is as good as the og series

All of these on the nose comments back and forth between will and Nico just sound like a fan got ahold of the editor and inserted their fanfic ideas and memes and fanon characterizations.

This story was really cute and gave a lot of development for the underwater culture and the sisters and such. The mystery was good even though I figured some of it out early on, and the writing has some repetitiveness/obvious lines that is common in younger skewed novels (though it shouldn’t be!) but I’m not gonna knock it for that
