End of story 9, remix of Theseus and the Minotaur. 2.5 Stars ✨

When I saw that this story was remixing Theseus and the Minotaur I got excited hoping they’d do a sympathetic take on the Minotaur (he deserved better!!) but it turns out the Minotaur in this story is literally a racist and abusive white man 🫠

The inner narration is getting a bit repetitive for this one, and it’s lowkey annoying how he gets bullied for like sci fi and fantasy lmao (what this whole collection is about??) and this clearly takes place in modern day because they mention the rock and black Adam… so you’re telling me this kid is getting bullied for… what a lot of kids like??

How are guardians of the galaxy and stranger things not mainstream 😭

End of Story 8 (remix of Bartleby, the Scrivener) another source I didn’t know

Well that was beautiful. I thought the girl was a ghost (would’ve been a good creepy story) but she was just out of time, like Until We Meet Again. It was super sweet!

I like how they had to clarify that just because this character is obsessed with artwork depicting Jesus’ death she’s not a “Jesus freak” 💀

Ok this story just took a dark and creepy turn 😭😭 how did this girl die?? They better explain it, and the MC better not stay with her 😭

Why are they acting like her art isn’t art lmao the way they acted I thought it was made of garbage or dead body parts but it’s just?? X ray papers???

I loved this one!! So cute and such a great take on the classic. It is a bit rushed, but I can chalk that up to it being a short story (give me the full book now please!!!)

Boy do I love reading about MCs/love interests that are “tall dark and handsome” and they’re actually poc!! Not white !! It’s amazing

End of Story 5, remix of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Not super badly written, but definitely not to my tastes, and the violence escalated so quickly there. We’re not meant to like the MC, which is fine, I just hope she gets her comeuppance — spin off book about her friend learning she’s a vampire and having to take her down? Sign me up — 1 Star ✨

Yeah not a fan of this story — it’s so bloody (ha) and aggressive for no reason, and I just don’t like vampire stories 🤷🏽‍♀️ I also don’t know how I’m supposed to care for Goldi at all, and so far I don’t see how this is the three bears??? Oh wait I do 🤣 each of her victims’ blood — one is too sweet, one too bitter, I bet this boy’s blood will be just right 🤦🏽‍♀️
