End of story 15. Idk how to feel. It’s the closest to modern society, and bc of that it was hard to read & just felt like I was reading a news report today, which aren’t things I like to read. The inner turmoil of the MC, while real, felt flimsy in the way the MC described it, and she changes her tune a bit too quickly imo. I’m also just not generally a fan of this era. Lackluster story to end on. 3 stars

End of story 14 - loved it! Short, sweet, but it did leave me wanting more. It felt more like a slice of life and there wasn’t much action or ending. 3.75 stars ✨

End of story 13… this was the first one I didn’t love. It didn’t make me feel anything, and if it did it just annoyed me. I loved the setting and context and tying Hollywood history into WW2 history, but I never bought the romance and thought there was no real satisfying conclusion to it. And I thought that despite the MCs claim to intelligence and grit, she ended up being gullible and naive :/

Her boyfriend dies at war and she’s making it all about herself, that he didn’t get to hear her confession that she liked girls 🙄 my guy DIED, BRUTALLY. Damn this is the first story that’s annoying me

End of story 12. I love the two depression stories we got, and I would LOVE to read what happens next with both 🥹 they deserve love!!! 5 stars, I enjoyed every character and the setting — and the It Happened One Night references!! I’m always sold whenever IHON makes an appearance lol

End of story 11 — LOVED this one — though I don’t think we ever knew the MC’s name or race?? Maybe I’ll have to reread it. Love the concept and execution :) 5 stars ✨

End of story 10, loved that we’re finally in the 20th century, but I did feel like this was more of a love letter to a real historical figure than a fictional story of a girl who interacted with her, if that makes sense :/ 4 stars ✨

End of story 9. Loved this and that it didn’t end poorly for the girls. Great setting and antagonist! 5 stars :)

End of story 8, I think that was my favorite so far (big surprise, it’s Marissa). Loved the hint of romance in this and the setting and the culture, it reminded me a lot of If I Have to Be Haunted. I’d read the rest of this book!! 5 stars :)
