Slightly disappointed that the plant lore doesn't begin until 42% through the book. The background of Yule traditions is interesting, but very similar to what I've already read in other books. I was hoping for more pages devoted to plant lore.

I put this down when I was about halfway done, distracted by other things. Now I'm starting over from the beginning to refresh my memory. I was reading the ebook before, but am enjoying listening to Danielle read her book passionately and authentically in the audiobook version.

This is exactly what I needed to hear today! Even my fiction reads are quite dark and heavy recently, and this book brings in lots of much needed light and playfulness. Also Leslie Howard is one of my favourite narrators, making this audiobook version even better! I feel great listening to this.

I'm absolutely fascinated by this book!!! ❄

I might enjoy this more if dipping into it or reading one poem a day. After reading several at a time it's obvious how repetitive the phrases and metaphors are. 😕
