Wait! This has turned into a totally shitty book about a boring affair in New York after a terrific deep sea diving adventure in the Carribean which is how the novel begins.

The dialogue in this book - wow. Like Elmore Leonard, George V Higgins is great at writing doomed and unbelievably stupid criminal characters.
