I finally understand intentionality, but heterophenomenology is still a mystery to me. I was heartbroken when the Baldwin effect in genetics turned out to be nothing about the Baldwin brothers. Unless we’re saying that phenotype plasticity will let the other Baldwins approach Alec and thus be more successful at reproduction.

I’m listening to an audiobook of this near rated by Lin-Manuel Miranda. His narration is absolutely thrilling. I confess I’m getting a bit lost in the genealogy, but the present time work is captivating. I will read the rest of little differently in light of Diaz‘s autobiographical article about trauma in the New Yorker for April 2018.

An amazingly hopeful book! solutions to climate change are already available and economically feasible. This book summarizes the top 100 methods for actually reversing the atmospheric composition changes that are driving climate change.
What surprised me is to what extent renewable energy is actually cost effective even in the near term. Renewable energy uses what’s already freely available, or being discarded.

Done with book 1 — I’m confused about how brust mentions so much backstory when this was, ahem, book 1? Am I supposed to know who Sethra Lavode and the Necromancer are?

This book made reading about category theory fun. I want to read a book like this that explains core functional programming concepts in this tone. Could a ‘category’ be the set of operations that can be performed in a blender? Or is that a group?

This was just too long. Are usually love a long book but once I was halfway through and realized it was only halfway through, I lost patience. I’m calling this one done.
