There might be good stuff in here, but so far it’s just outdated, science and explanations of physiology.

Even more interesting than I was hoping for — this really leans into the healthcare part of homelessness. The topic is very present in my day to day life, describing the first homeless people in Seattle (so far) and Yesler Way, in downtown Seattle, a mile from my house. I see why they used it to slide trees to the harbor, and I’m starting to see the origin of societal practices that leave people without houses.

Really good and weird. Painful in a similar way to how A Little Life is painful.

So far, it’s a bunch of pronouncements (“language is intent”) without context or details. It makes the book very pretty, but more like poetry than a how-to book. I’m only up to the “accept reality” chapter though… maybe it gets prescriptive later on.
