the average rating for this is 3.66 which i know would throw many people off but man this is why you can’t always trust ratings and reviews cause i am having a blast with this! you really never know.

i’m THIS close to becoming a big fan of this author and reading her backlist. the way she writes is awesome—super engaging and every page ends with something new that i wanna unravel and continue reading.

Books sheltered her from the reality of an unhappy childhood, letting her hide between the pages of a story whenever real life got too loud. In an adulthood that proved to be no less problematic, books provided her with work, money, and purpose. Books kept a roof over her head and books put food on her table. She owes whatever happiness she has in the real world to fiction.

just wanna say that i’m going to be pretty inactive for the rest of the year bc i’ve gone back to college. it’s going to take up a lot of my socialization and reading time. i’ll try to hop on here and there but don’t promise any interactions. the most reading i’ll be doing involve my textbooks. 😭

They'd been told over and over that all they could do was ruin their babies' lives. But on that long, hot, empty afternoon, they tasted what it would be like to see their babies, to hold them, to smell them, and it felt so real, and so true, that for a moment they felt like what they were, they felt like mothers, and it stunned them into silence.

this is so sad 😭

What the future held, I could not say. But we would have more adventures together, of that I was certain, and I could not wait to begin them.
