Good taxonomy of problem types: simple, complicated, complex. Simple problems can be solved with a checklist. Complicated problems are much longer, and often contain series of simple problems, but after you've done it once, you can repeat it successfully by following the same steps every time. Complex problems, like raising a child, are different every time, and one recipe doesn't work every time.
