John is on page 279 of 590 of Hunger (Gone, #2)
Pg 264: "Run away, Mike, but leave your pistol... On the floor. Underneath the last console. Back where no one can see it... Its ok if i die Tanner; she knew her dead brother could hear, as long as Caine dies first" Brittney seems to be preparing to die. When all the other kids come close to death, they seem to develop a power, so maybe she will. Maybe when she gets it, she'll need the pistol.

Pg 219: "Jack twisted to see the shaved-head kid shrugging. What, I didnt hear anything. That voice. Jack knew that voice... He knew that voice. He stared at the kid with the voice. And suddenly, he saw." Jack just abandoned Caine. Caine probably sent someone to bring him back. This person is maybe Diana. Earlier it talked about her shaving her head. Diana will probably convince Jack to come back with her.

Pg 198: At this point in the book, they are at cabbage fields and have just used their powers to burn worms... "THey moved a distance to the left and repeated the whole sequence. Then to a third location and did it again. Okay message sent, Sam said." Even though the worms have developed bigger and smarter brains, i dont think they will take Sam and Dekka killing a few of them as a warning. I think it didn't work

Pg 320: Part 2 cont. There still seems to be other ways to control the power however, because Caine didnt seem angry everytime he used his power. Maybe its just anger and desperation before he learns how to use it, then he will be able to use his power at will.

Pg 320: "He raised his hands, the way he'd seen Caine do, palms out like he was signaling someone to stop, or else like he was a pastor blessing a congregation... Nothing. It wasnt going to work... After this Astrid get Sam worked up about Drake, and then... bolts of brilliant, green-tinged light shot from his hands." The way the power works seems to come from anger. When he fights Caine he has alot of anger (cont.

Pg 270: "Caine will kill you! Quinn you traitor!... Tell them i made you do it, Sam said. He made me do it. Now tell them we're going to the power plant. And point. We're heading to the power plant. Sam released the whell, spun, and a landed a hard left hook into Quinns face." This confirms my belief. Sam was trying to see if he could trust Quinn, and also fool Caines followers. He seems to have succeeded.

Pg 266: "Where are we going Sam?... Lets go check her house... No, the power plant." At the moment, Sam doesnt trust Quinn, since he just betrayed him. I believe Sam is lying to Quinn to see if he can trust him, or if Quinn will just betray him again and help Caine recapture him.

Pg 235: Ill crawl Sam. So foot by foot, like small grey insects, they crept up the slope. They came to the path and found it was broad. They may have reached it this far, but I don't think they will be able to do this easily. I have a feeling Golem still hasn't died, or even Sauron will be there, waiting to take back his ring.

Pg 219: Clambering a few steps up he found a tiny stream of dark water that came out from the hill side and filled a little bare pool, from which again it spilled and vanished. : this sounds significant in some way. Maybe the water will attract some wild animal. Sam might have to fight off an animal then, and he might be killed here.

Pg 204- The first enemy we meet will know us. We must get off this road somehow. But we can't, unless we have wings.: This is probably foreshadowing something. It's hopefully a sign of them getting a bird or something to ride. That would be interesting, or even if it were the eagles from the hobbit.

Pg 32: PART 1"He stepped down and vanished. There was a blinding flash of light, and the guests blinked. When they opened their eyes Bilbo was nowhere to be seen. One hundred and forty-four flabbergasted hobbits sat back speechless." I read the hobbit already, so this is definently the ring he found. Im guessing the reason he left is he wants to begin a new quiet life somewhere else, away from people.

Out flew a red-golden dragon, not life size, but terrible life like." This reminds me of the 4th of July with all the fireworks. It would be cool if someone created some wort of firework like this one and presented it.

They began to call him well-preserved but unchanged would have been nearer the mark" After reading the previous book, im guessing the ring he found has something to do with this. This being said in the book and taking up as much space as it did probably means its important, and it feels like fore sha

Pg 260: "We would see peace once more among dwarves and men and elves after the long desolation; but it may cost you dear in gold. I have spoken" From this, its possible to predict the Lake-Men will be led by Bard to try and take the treasure, as well as elves. According to the bird, distributing alot of the gold could bring peace between all of them.

Pg 251: "And that was the end of Smaug and Esgaroth, but not Bard." Once again, this is worded funny. Im guessing the townsfolk will think the man who killed Smaug is dead, but he wont be. I also wonder what they will do about the treasure on the mountain, since everyone knew about it, and how will the dwarves and hobbit keep the treasure.

Pg 248: Before long, so great was his speed, they could see him as a spark of fire rushing towards them and growing ever huger and more bright." Wording of this section makes me believe the dwarves and the hobbit wont even have to fight Smaug, and that the village people will fight him. I have a feeling that the bird that was on the rock earlier is going to to have a role to play here, and maybe help them kill Smau

Pg 117: "But only in pairs, mind about five minutes between each pair of you" I wonder why he's making them go in 5 minutes apart in pairs. Maybe this guy is afraid of seeing so many people at once or something. He might have another reason, but its hard to tell from here.
