Strong finish!! Maybe not a ghost story per se, but definitely eerie, creepy and heartbreaking.

The Pink House by Rebecca Curtis. 2 stars.
Interesting enough read but i didn't really "get" it.

Tiny Ghosts by Amy Giacalone. 4 stars.
Simply because it's so outrageously weird!

The Specialist's Hat by Kelly Link. 3 stars.
In a funny way, it reminded me if The Babadook, but not quite as well executed. Some funny things I couldn't quite figure out.

'Laura'and 'The Open Window' by Saki. 5 stars and 4 stars.
So Saki is quite the discovered treasure. Such short stories but SO full of humour and life! I'll definitely be reading more by this author!

The July Ghost by A.S. Byatt. 3 stars.
That was super weird. 'She's sad because her son died, maybe she would like to have sex?'

Playmates by A.M. Burrage. 5 stars.
I really loved this one! A lonely little girl being studied by her psychologist guardian finds friends in the schoolroom of an old house with a tragic past.

They by Rudyard Kipling. 3 stars.
I think it went over my head. It had a very sad feel to it, but i didn't quite grasp the whole thing

Click Clack the Rattlebag by Neil Gaiman. 4 stars.
It was over before I even started. Very short and to the point, which is a shame because it was great. Stop being so concise, Gaiman!

Honeysuckle Cottage by P.G. Wodehouse. 5 stars.
Oh I loved this! A mystery writer is left his deceased aunt's cottage where she wrote all her romance stories, which he describes as 'tripe'. It quickly turns out the cottage is haunted - not by a ghost, but the the soppy sentimentality of his aunt's novels. So hilarious!

The Mezzontint by M.R. James. 4 stars.
Okay, so it was a bit predictable. I'm sure I've read a few stories and seen a few movies with a similar plotline. But it was suitably creepy and fun to read.

The Beckoning Fair One by Oliver Onions. 2 stars.
More of a 'desecent into madness' story than a ghost story. It was about 80 pages too long - so much was unnecessary filler! Not my favourite.

3. Pomegranate Seed by Edith Wharton. 4 stars. A wonderful, gothic slow burner, much like Daphne DuMaurier's 'Rebecca'.

2. Secret Life, With Cats by Audrey Niffenegger. 3 stars.
Loved it right up until the end. She's a beautiful writer, but a very weird person..

As this is a series of short stories, i will review each story as i go.
1. The Black Cat by Edgar Allan Poe. 4 stars. Woah! So messed up. General "yucky" feeling ghost story.

I have never been angrier reading a book. I'm so sick of bogans yelling that Aboriginals should get over things that happened in the past. This is the 50s. We have been treating them this way for hundreds of years.
