Its a fast paced story,helding up nicely and a banned book,re-published and translated by an english author...

"Alcohol taken once has to be taken again to drown the regret of drinking."- Marks the end of 3rd chapter,on last and final chapter of this novel.

"World can be a bewildering place,and dreams and ambitions are often paths to the most pernicious of traps."...finished with "squatter" chapter...and the above lines clearly describes the pathos, i along with the protagonist went through while he was narrating and i was reading the story, had.... this chapter gives a picturesque view of life in a foreign land one has an immigrant...beautifully compiled....

what a climax it was to chapter "paying guests" full of suspense and it turned out to be an anticlimax...i am stunned for the moment..a different feeling from all the other tales that i read till now..from this novel...

"what a pity!" wailed sarmila. "Even in love men cannot wholly lose themselves.A portion of themselves they need must set apart for the exercise of their masculine ego"..... what an amazing conclusion...

finished with "of white hairs & cricket".... leaves me with a sad countenance...

im again left alone and sad with the end of this chapter...the high and lows of life can be seen in each and every chapter portrayed in this novel...its so beautiful but yet so sad....:(

im currently reading "collectors" and im already in love with this novel for sure...i wish that it doesn't finishes up so soon....thats y im reading it as slowly as possible...trying to feel its deep emotions for as long as possible...it's so very humanistic...

read chapter "condolence visit".. very sad account of a widower and her plight in old age...really a moving tale of a widow...

i have read 3tales from this novel till now...and every tale is entwined with the other...its a different experience reading this novel of tales...and every story is beautifully crafted with a nice little humor to feel at ease...
