All the kids are expected to go to school, and do everyday normal things as a kid. They have a typical modern day lifestyle which is expected of them. Colorado living is more laid back for the Walters, and consists more of fun than neatness. Living on a ranch gives the family a country flare, making it different as opposed to living in New York.

Before Jackie came there was 12 boys living in the Walter house. The number twelve's symbolic meaning is the completed heavenly circle. When Jackie arrived it caused a disturbance shattering the heavenly circle making there 13 kids in the house. The number 13 is associated with bad feelings and unpleasentness. The author chose to use the number 12 to represent wholeness and the number 13 to represent the disturbance.

Jackie's tone and personality is serious. While she was describing her family and herself she said, "...while I was like our dad, calculating and serious." Also while she was discussing herself Jackie mentioned, "That was the start of my obsession with being perfect." She is very put together and tidy.

As Jackie is looking out the window at the beautiful Colorado scenery she explains, "We were surrounded by green fields and hills..." (12). Jackie moved away from her home in New York to live with a new family because her blood related family died in a car accident. The green rolling hills and fields symbolize rebirth and renewal as she is entering her new life with the Walter boys.

Alex and Mollie go on a quest to get Veronica in trouble at prom. Although there were not many hardships that Alex and Mollie had to overcome along the way to reach their goal, the result was tragic which is another visible archetype in the story. After all the girls confess and receive community service for their actions, they are all hardly friends anymore due to all the betrayal that took place.

A symbol of hell would be when all the girls go to the Zu basement. Basements are underground which represents being shut out from the world and darkness. The Zu basement is not as dark as its literal representation but they do bad things down there, such as drinking alcohol underage, which does not take place up above.

In Those Girls all the girls are at their prom. Mollie drugs Veronica to get back at her for cheating with her boyfriend Sam. After Veronica took the pill Mollie drags her to a hallway in the hotel and lays her there to make it look like she is passed out drunk. Mollie rustles Veronica's hair and puts dirt from a plant on her to make it more convincing. Mollie wants Veronica to get in trouble for drinking at prom.

In Those Girls, Alex would be considered the archetype of the outcast. She is the only girl in her group without a boyfriend. Also she is a tomboy therefor she is not as girly as both her best friends, so it's harder for her to relate to them. Alex has many characteristics that are opposite as her friends, which sets her apart from them.

The audience for this book is mostly teenagers. The main characters are all highschool girls which makes the audience narrower because a boy would never pick up this book. The language in the book can be little complex but overall it is doable.

Those Girls is a character driven story because the story progresses due to what the characters do and experience. The characters form the plot not viceversa. The characters change their feelings, opinions and actions which keeps the story flowing.

The structure of Those Girls is a narrative alternating chapters between three characters. The chapters switch from Alex, to Mollie, to Veronica and the chapter explains their point of view on whatever the current situation is. The same events do not repeat in each chapter, the story progresses as each chapter passes. The style of writing varies betweens chapters because the narration is the thoughts in their brain.

The dynamic characters in the story are Alex, Mollie, and Veronica. All the girls change how they feel about guys and what they do for fun. Alex and Mollie have done the exact same thing since they were young but now Alex has joined a band and has grown independent from Molly. Static characters in Those Girls would be Drew and Sam. They are side characters who accompany the girls while they undergo their friendship.

One of the minor characters in Those Girls is a guy from Crawford Highschool named Drew. Drew is best friends with Alex and they have always secretly had a thing together. Veronica, who is one of Alex's best friends starts dating Drew. Alex acts like she's okay with it, but deep down she feels sad that Drew choose Veronica over her. Having Drew in the story creates competition between Alex and Veronica.

One question I have thought of is, why does Joan's father hate her so much? I think it might be because after Joan's mother passed away, her father became stiff. I feel he does not open up to anyone anymore because he's afraid to feel the pain of lose again, as if anything were to happen to someone he was close to.

One of the conflicts in the story Joan wants the egg money from her father. She has put all her effort into striking against her father but he still refuses to give it to her. This type of conflict is character versus character.

One sympathetic character in the book is Joan. Joan is hardworking, polite, and kind. She is a very likeable character. An unsympathetic character in the book is Joan's father. He's a very angry and cruel man. His character evokes feelings of anger when he refuses to give Joan the egg money then yells at her.

One quote in "The Hired Girl" is, "I have three books - the ones she gave me - plus Ma's Bible, and I just ache to read more" (10). This reveals two things about Joan, how she feels and what she does. Joan loves to read and she has reread the few books she has over and over. Joan feels an ache to read more books.

One connection I have made is to the main character Mo. She does not know her real mother and doesn't know if she is dead or alive. My mother died so I connect to Mo. Although I did know my mom before she died, Mo never knew her mom. For me this makes the book more interesting because I can relate and feel anything Mo is feeling about not having her mom.

One minor character in the book is Mikey Russo. Mikey Russo is Sydney's boyfriend. Mikey is violent, mean, and aggressive. When Mikey is with Marsh he balances Marsh out because he is the opposite of Mikey. Also when Mikey is around Marsh there is always a new threat or problem he brings which adds a complication to the story.

So far in Morpheus Road many things have happened. It started out when Coop got in trouble for selling counterfeit tickets, which ended in his parents sending him to his lake house. His best friend Marsh decided to go with Coop because Marsh's only friend is Coop. Marsh had started to be haunted at home and thought going away would make it better, but it only got worse. Whatever is haunting Marsh followed him.

The conflict in Morpheus Road is character vs. character. This is because the main character Marsh, has created an evil spirit called Gravedigger who haunts him. During the entire book Marsh is trying to defeat Gravedigger and get rid of him so the haunting ends.
