Jennifer Saint once again brings to life the ventures of a noteworthy female figure by compiling lesser told mythologies into a meaningful character arc, leaving the reader with probably their first and most lasting impression of Atalanta. It must also be said that the prose and elegance of Saint’s storytelling is of the highest caliber.

Any book that opens referencing Greek mythology gets automatic bonus points from me. The handful of adverts to this subject in the first five chapters tell me that the book I am reading will likely have comparisons galore inspired by the ancient Greeks’ tales, if only I am privy to espying them on the pages before me.

This one is so addicting! Gone Girl meets The Woman in the Window. Love it.

Hard to put this one down 🤓

I recommend reading this book if not only for the passages in Marcellus’ point of view. Who knew an octopus could be so thought-provoking and sentimental? I love Marcellus and find that I continue to read this book so that I can get to the next chapter narrated by him. Otherwise, I find the plot to be somewhat unpredictably predictable in that this story is unique but without gasp-inducing surprises.
