do I even need to finish this book? I'd already guessed the ~big secret~ 18 pages in (I skipped ahead to check) and all this has been so far is just waiting for Charlie to stop being dumb and catch up. It's painfully painfully obvious what it is too.

I'm all for reading an unlikeable protagonist if they have an interesting voice. Charlie is not interesting in any capacity and honestly neither is anyone else in this book (except maybe Vince).

I never would have guessed Charlie was 28 and Posey was 25 🤨

A little more interested in this now than I was last week, but honestly not by much. This feels like it's mostly just vibes and no actual world-building. Holly Black tells us what this universe is like but doesn't actually explain anything. Charlie knows the world but we're still kept in the dark about most of it. It's kind of irritating. Vince is the only interesting character, but I'm keeping expectations low.

2) I need to relisten to bk 6 because I'm so confused w/this timeline. Garrett helping Pandora in bk 3 was already mentioned which means West has already met Phoebe at this point, yes? Then Kathleen says the fam is off to stay with Pandora's in-laws which is what happens in bk 6. Isn't West there too? or does he come in later? And the stuff in bk 5 is also happening now right? Someone help me lol
