Committed but conflicted…
One reader said it has “an Avengers: Endgame” feeling.” But compared to books 1-3 (and most of 4) it thus far has more of an “MCU Phase 4 Eternals” vibe—some good action, but bloated, preachy, and a bit hollow.
His exploration of mental health in book 4 was a bit tedious. But here his shoe-horned psychologizing and consequent queer inclusion is patronizing and pretentious.
