Did the 10 year flunk a couple of grades? 10 year olds are typically in 5th grade, not 3rd. That is unless they flunked only 1 grade and was held back due to a late birthday.
Also, I had to look up when the book was originally published because the main character is acting like computers and the internet are a new thing. The book was originally published in 1999, so computers and the internet were not new.
