I had bookmarked thia one a few months back, was working insanely long hours on night shift, and my brain couldn't handle reading too much.
Now I have decided to pick it back up, and just finished the chapter dealing with the Inchon landings, the 8th Army's/ROK breakout from the Pusan Perimeter, and the Battle for Seoul.
A must read for anyone wanting to know about the Korean War.

Napoleon's defeat was not possible were it not for the stoic, stubborn refusal of the Hapsburg's and the Austro-Hungarian Army to quit. Also, I am enjoying the authors less than favorable, if subtle, critique of the French Revolution.
As the ideological forefathers of the Marxists, Nazis and the destruction of European civilization, the Jacobins do not come across all that noble in this book. Very refreshing.

An excellent couple of chapters dealing with the Seven Years War. Really does make you reconsider your knee jerk hero worship of Frederick.

Only read the first chapter, but already this is an excellent military history of the Austro-Hungarian Army. Also loving the Catholic Church history that is comingled within.

So far this is really very good. I already knew it was going to point out quite a few of the historical flaws of shows like Vikings and The Last Kingdom (both of which I adore). I'm finding this book is actually enhancing my enjoyment of those visual treats.

Medieval military history is one of the gaps in my knowledge base, so I am taking on faith that Corrigan, a writer I already admire, knows of what he speaks.
The Crecy campaign was covered very well as was the battle itself, and the pros and cons of both the English semi-professional and French/Continental Fuedal military systems.
Great book so far. Helps I'm half British and a bit of an Anglophile.

Started the third book in the Omni: Necropolis. Easily in the top three of the entire series.

The background has been established, and the English look to press their claim to the French throne.

Rommel has recovered from his beating during Crusader, and has stormed to the Gazala Line. Churchill frets and stews over the strategic situation of a British Empire in abeyance all around the globe.

Shades of the Island of Dr. Moreau, and easily the best portrayal of the Emperor's Children yet written.
Such a good read.

Though early in his writing career, Ghostmaker was a hell of a good read. It feels like it should have been the first of the series, honestly.
And the scenes on Monthax, especially with the Dolthe Eldar, make me wonder if Dan has ever thought of penning an Eldar novel...or two, or three?
