Brusilov prepares his offensive, despite some doubts amongst STAVKA. Brusilov has learned well lessons learned from the Germans; this time the Russians will not be denied.
The KuK, Brusilov's target, is woefully unprepared, focused on knocking Italy out of the war.

Apparently Spec Ops training is as brutal as humanly possible on Grainne.

In March of 1916, along Lake Naroch and further north towards Estonia, the Russians launched a massive, and disastrous, series of offensives against the Germans. Although 120,000 Russians, and 21,000 Germans were casualties, the Russians were learning very viable lessons.

The annexation of Bosnia-Hercegovina, bloody suppression of the Islamic revolt, and the succesful administration, and wholesale modernization of the Provinces, is a showcase of Hapsburg efficiency.
Helping their case is the fact that Bosnian Muslims would constitute some of the best troops in the KuK.

I can't be the only one to have caught the nod to the Godzillaverse with the Astral Templars having defeated the three headed beast King Ghidora?

As the KuK soundly defeats a series of massive Russian assaults in the winter of 1915-16, we see proof that the Austro-Hungarian Army has learned from its mistakes.
The Russians are still riven with interservice rivalry and a lack of sound leadership.

US and ROK forces have seized nearly all of North Korea, yet still failed to destroy the NKPA. The operation was a logistical nightmare, made worse by ineffective and transport hoarding strategic movements such as the airdrop north of Pyongyang, and the sea landings at Wonsan.
And the Chinese are coming...and no one in high command is willing to believe it.

I'm astonished that there isn't a general/military history of the 1848 Revolution out there. Or of the 1859 campaign in northern Italy which culminated in the bloodbath of Solferino.
So much fascinating history, barely any coverage in English.

8th Army has swept out of the Pusan Perimeter and liberated all of South Korea south of the Han River. the ROK put in a damned fine showing as well.
However, there is cause for slight concern. Walker did not destroy the NKPA south of the Han, rather he grabbed territory while a large cadre of North Korean veterans escaped northwards to reform new units as hardened cadres.

Such a good read, absolutely loving the tension between the young Black Legion and the Death Guard, and the differing worldviews (or is that warpviews?) concerning their goals.
The Black Legion eschews the past, and looks to forge a fiery new path, written in the spilled blood of vengeance. While the Death Guard merely seeks to be the masters of the Realm of the Eye.
Very good.
