Very good chapter on the first of Stuart's 'Rides around McClellan.' One of the most detailed tellings of the event I have yet read. Akers does a very good, and credible, job of analysis on the event, showcasing how Stuart's boldness, and unpredictability operationally, threw the Federals off far more than the tired mantra of incompetence amongst Union command cadre.
Remember: the enemy always gets a vote.
