Mid-section is a tad slow and overly detail oriented about one minor plot line - moving materials from level 22 mine shaft to level 24's shaft. Really?? Nearly thirty pages spent on this one topic? Can you say "Zzzzz?"

This book is way better than I thought it would be. The prose is phenomenal; I can actually visualize myself in the Amazon rainforest with all of its wildlife and danger. Extremely well written novel.
