This book is rambling. I am having a difficult time seeing the small stories he tells to the premise of him exploring the faith of his youth as a gay man. Perhaps my expectations are off base. Or perhaps the book really is that rambling and difficult to follow.

All but one, maybe two of the adults in this book are despicable, and I am very much enjoying their trauma.

The main characters of this small town are snobby, small-minded people. I am reading only to see if they get taken down a few pegs. I do not like them at all.
