I’m entranced by Kathy’s recollections of Hailsham and The Cottages. The amount of patience Kathy has for Ruth is insurmountable. She’s incredibly rude and catty, but I suppose as Kathy says many times, they’ve never been outside of Hailsham / interacted with many other people aside from the Guardians, and Ruth is trying to acclimate while Kathy is playing by “the rules”. Perspective.
