Just finished the second part of the trilogy, Malleus. It was a stronger offering than Xenos in my opinion, but it ended very abruptly and the Epilogue isn't satisfying - a big thing happens, but isn't in any way explained as to how. It's probably explained in the last part, Hereticus, but still the fact that a major event plays out over the course of two short chapters was disappointing.

Ok, a bit better. "Something Pretty, Something Beautiful" was alright, if a bit too "deep" - at least in the writer's mind - for its own good.

"Clean Slate" is a story which reads distrurbingly because of the subject matter (a woman abused in her youth takes it out on men she sleeps with by killing them), and because it was written by a guy. Doesn't sit exactly right with me when a man writes this sort of fiction.

"Audacious" is the first one in this collection of "mystery stories"... but has no mystery to it. Like, at all. Spoiler below:

An old man, who's wife passed away, befriends a young pickpocket. There seems to be a romantic relationship going on, but he finds that the girl's parents are looking for her. He drives her to their address, but she runs away. The end. Mystery? It sure doesn't feel like it...
