A lot of people say this book is scary? Maybe I'm not far enough. It has its creepy elements but mostly I'm just sad and unsettled. I'm having trouble putting it down, though, even if it is one of the most difficult reads I've ever picked up.

I know this is probably going to turn into the average teenage love story, but I really cannot shake the feeling that Phinn is a gaslighting abusive asshole.

After slogging through the world of sci-fi classic, I can finally get back to what's important. Zombies. :D

This book is a brick. But I'm making my way through it.

I get annoyed by books with unrealistic dialogue, especially unrealistic teenage dialogue. Thankfully the plot of this one is keeping me interested, even if its only now beginning to pick up.

"So quickly it was done. Vengeance. I stood looking down at him, waiting to feel triumph or relief, or satisfaction. Instead I felt nothing, felt as lost to all life as he was. He was not even meat I could eat."

I was not expecting the twist near the end, though I should have seen it coming. Sometimes the switching of characters and POV confused me, but whenever I was asked how the book was, I'd reply "Excellent."
