'Fuck their hospitality,' Asya cries, throwing out her arms — and almost laughs out loud for joy — she's done it, oh, she's done it — she could clap her hands and dance in the street. '
Fuck — their — hospitality.

I don't understand people who simultaneously make mouths at trigger warnings and think the ownership of child pornography is an arrestable offense. Either acknowledge that there is a scale of mind interacting dangerously with content to which each person has the right to personally define, or fuck off. Too many children are silenced when they protest violence against themselves for you to say you're protecting them.

Oh this is a good one: "They require a diagnosis for her unlikability in order to tolerate her. The simplest explanation, of Mavis as human, will not suffice." Are mentally ill people not human, Gay? Cause I perform likability so well that I make the typical neurotypical look withdrawn. True to popular form, yet another "thinking" writer can't critically engage with something without being a eugenicist fuck.

Gay didn't include sanity in her list of privileges. She doesn't have to worry, though. It shows well enough even when she doesn't talk about it. If it keeps on showing for the next 304 pages, I'll have my review work cut out for me.

I'm glad Goodreads is forcibly bombarding my email with ads for ebooks, I really am. What with my lack of an ereader, it means I'm even more incapable of caring what they think.

Well, 'Mrs. Sen's' is fantastic, at any rate. I'm holding out hope for the last three in this collection.

Do you think we did something to them? Ruíz said. No one did anything. That is just how the heathens are. Look what they did to me. He pointed to the dark socket where his left eye had been, oblivious to the role he had played in his own predicament.

The Orlando nightclub shooting that happened today was homophobic, anti-Latinx heteronormativity and cisnormativity in action. Any news site that doesn't point this out is using this horrible tragedy to promote its own propaganda.

The morning prayer woke me; the noon prayer told me it was time to eat and rest; the afternoon prayer refreshed me after a long nap; the dusk prayer delivered me from my workday to my family; and the evening prayer commended my...
